Freddie C. Schuler
Freddie C. Schuler, 85, of Schnecksville, died Nov. 4, 2012, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Edna M. (DeLong) Schuler and Eleanor S. (Strauss) Schuler.
Born June 17, 1927, in Longswamp, Berks County, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Horn) Schuler.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked in sales and distribution for the former ARA Vending Co. of the Lehigh Valley for 20 years before retiring in 1987.
He also worked part-time as a school bus driver for the Parkland School District for 10 years.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
He was a life member and past post commander of Robert M. Fegley VFW Post 8282, Breinigsville, a past VFW Lehigh County Council commander and a past Eighth District commander of the VFW.
His survivors include children Charles W. and his wife Judith, of Trexlertown, Mae M. and her husband Ronald Carter of Breinigsville, Betty A. and her husband Dale Miller of Fleetwood, Gene P. and his wife Diane of Kutztown, Margaret F. and her husband William Tamburino of Breinigsville; brothers Donald J. of Kutztown, Thomas F. of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and companion Betty J. Peters of Slatington.
He was predeceased by a sister, Anna M. Schuler.
His funeral services will be 10 a.m. Nov. 9, in Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, with the Rev. Michael J. Bodnyk officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9-10 a.m. Friday in the church.
Interment with military honors will follow the service at St. John's Union Cemetery, Whitehall.
