Earl P. Geist, 92, of Macungie, died November 3, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Anna M. (Schmoyer) Geist. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in April. Born in East Texas, he was a son of the late Paul Geist and Edna Siegfried.

He was a meat smoker for 14 years at the former A&B Meat Packing Company and Wilson Meat Packing Company in Allentown, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis, serving on church and was past treasurer of the park board for 32 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife; son, Ernest P. of Macungie; sister, Betty Brensinger of Topton; grandchildren, Wendy, Michelle and Brian; great-grandson, Nicholas. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ellen A. Thomas in 1997; brother, Lester Mertz.

Memorial contributions maybe made in his name to Huff's Union Church Memorial Fund, 18011.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Call 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd., Breinigsville and 9:30 a.m. to time of service, Thursday in the church.
