LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Look for LVC title share

Seven straight wins later and the Parkland football team finds itself one victory shy of at least a share of the Lehigh Valley Conference championship.

The season started on the road at Delaware Valley, and it ends on the road against rival Emmaus (5-4) this Friday night.

The Green Hornets are coming off a season-defining win at Nazareth, and if they ever needed to get up more for this game, that will help.

Both teams are looking at potential postseason tournaments, and both teams bring prolific athletes on the offensive side of the ball.

Tim Baranek, Jarel Elder and Eli Redmond have been the driving force to a Parkland (7-2) offense that has scored an average of 46 points the previous three games.

Emmaus uses a stout running game to rack up its points (35 last week). Sophomore Wyl Miller and Kyzir White are the focal point in attack.

The Trojans defense, however, may be the key to this game. If they play as well as they have through this seven-game streak (three shutouts), the game may fall in their direction. They just need to give the offense the ball and good things seemingly will happen.

For Parkland to clinch a share of the title, and a higher spot in the District 11 tournament, this is a must win game. If there is one team in the district that is ready to step up to a big game, it is the Parkland Trojans.
