District 11 Football Notes - Week 8

K.J. Williams of Liberty caught 13 passes against Easton to take the District 11 lead with 48. The 13 catches broke the school record of 10, held previously by Bob Mann (1983) and Robbie Opp (2001).

Colin McDermott of Central Catholic scored twice against Nazareth and now has 64 career TDs, tying Rashonn Drayton for the school record. McDermott moves by Tim Barlok (Beca), Scott Lavalva (Ban) and Woody Petchel (PA) on the all-area career rushing yardage list to 8th place with 4,659 yards.

Phil Vass of Bangor rushed for 235 yards and scored 3 TDs against Northern Lehigh to take the district rushing lead with 1,501 yards. Vass has scored 20 TDs this year tying him with Josh Wing (2011) for the school's single season record.

District 11 passing leader Jeff Krisiak of PM West now has 1,990 yards passing and 21 TD passes. Krisiak has 4,359 career passing yards and moves up three notches going by Justin Scuorzo (P'Burg), Josh Hinkle (Dier/CC) and Aaron Brown (Dier) into 22nd place all-time in the area. He also joins the 40 TD club with 41 career TD passes.

Teammate Jordan Hardy, caught 4 passes for 170 yards and 3 TDs last week. His 170 yards breaks his own school record of 157 yards he set last week. Hardy now has 8 TD catches this year breaking the single season school record of teammate Mark McMaster. McMaster had 7 TD catches in the first 6 games this year before a season ending injury. Hardy's 694 yards receiving this year breaks Mike Quiteh's school record of 669 yards that he set in 2007.

Ryan Dailey of Wilson threw for 383 yards against Salisbury to go over 1,000 yards for the season and teammate Zach Bogoly caught 8 passes for 252 yards. Surprisingly, neither total is a school record. Tyler Smith holds the passing yardage record with 419 yards that he threw against Northern Lehigh in 2008 as a sophomore. Brad Walter has the reception yardage record at Wilson with his 279 yards he had against Northern Lehigh in a 2005 playoff game.

Bogoly did break the league's regular season record of 246 yards previously held by Taylor Kreitz of Saucon Valley against Pen Argyl in 2008. Dailey however, did join the 3,000 yard club with his 3,033 yards passing. Bogoly now has 892 yards receiving this year to move by Justin Scerbo into 4th place all-time at Wilson behind the big 3 (Adam Thomas, Brad Walter and Kowan Scott).

Junior QB Nick Cook of Northampton has now thrown for 1,847 yards this year, breaking Craig Muschko's school record of 1,688 yards set in 2002 as a junior. Teammate Kyle George now has 853 receiving yards breaking Ryan Flamisch's school record 814 yards that he set in 1996.

Evan Fardella of PM East went over 1,000 yards passing for the season and needs 16 more yards to break Scott Masotti's school career record. Masotti threw for 2,717 yards from 2006-08.

Altarique Mosley-Dew of Stroudsburg rushed for another 266 yards and 2 scores against East Stroudsburg North.

Austyn Borre of Pleasant Valley scored five touchdowns in the first half against Allen to tie Dean Borger's 1974 school record and Jordan Gray's district record for a freshman. Borre now has 17 TD on the season, tying him with James Mungro of ES South for 2nd place all-time in the district for a freshman.

Parish Simmons of Nazareth needs 38 yards rushing to become the school's first 1,000/1,000 yard player.

Week 8 Trivia: Tim Lofton of PM West held the school's single season reception record with 29 before Matt Shelter broke it this year. That was the lowest total by any player holding the record at their school in the areal. The new lowest total to hold their school's record is 34 catches. Name the player and school.

What school holds the District record for the most 1,000 yard single season rushers with 24?
