Salisbury High School kicks off the Freddys high school musicals season with "Little Shop of Horrors," 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11, high school auditorium, 500 E. Montgomery St., Salisbury Township.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is a 1982 off-Broadway musical which went to Broadway. It is based on a low-budget 1960 Roger Corman-directed horror film spoof. The musical was made into a 1986 movie directed by Frank Oz.
The musical's plot has to do with a hapless flower shop employee who raises a Venus Flytrap-type plant that feeds on human blood and flesh.
The early 1960's rock 'n' roll, doo-wop and Motown style music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman includes well-known tunes, including the title song, as well as "Skid Row (Downtown)" and "Suddenly, Seymour."
Directing the show is Will Windsor Erwin, a first-time director at Salisbury, where the school presents its musicals in the fall. Most Lehigh Valley high schools present a musical in the spring and a drama in the fall.
