Kenneth L. Moyer, 93, of Schnecksville, died Oct. 22, 2012, in his home.

He was the husband of the late Faye A. (Clause) Moyer.

Born May 8, 1919, in Monterey, Berks County, he was the son of the late Claude and Carrie (Moyer) Moyer.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II achieving the rank of master sergeant.

As a member of the Gemological Institute of America and a certified gemologist and appraiser, he owned and operated the former K.L. Moyer Jeweler, Schnecksville and Allentown, for 30 years before retiring in 2007.

He also was a mechanical designer in the small appliance division of General Electric, Allentown, for 32 years before retiring.

He was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield.

His survivors include twin daughters Sally J. Shankweiler and her husband, David, of Schnecksville and Susan M. Lotz and her husband, Douglass, of Allentown; sisters Miriam Marks of Allentown, Mildred Osmun of Cherryville; granddaughters Katie Shankweiler and her fiancé, Joey Huber, and Emily Lotz and her companion, Troy Depew.

He was predeceased by a brother, Lester.

His funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Oct. 25, in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Michel officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery, Orefield.
