James J. McLaughlin, 82, of Macungie and formerly of Park Place, died October 20, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Julia (Tambasco) McLaughlin. They were married for 52 years. Born in the village of Trenton he was the son of the late James and Anna (Falatovich) McLaughlin.

He was a 1947 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He had been employed with and retired from AT&T Technologies, Allentown, after 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Matthew of Bethlehem and Patrick of Ocean City, Md.; two sisters, Marie and her husband Henry McCabe, Betty and her husband Bill Jones, all of Mahanoy City; stepsister, Marie and her husband John Kondisco of Mt. Carmel; granddaughter, Kelly Burton; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Frank Demko; son, Michael; sister, Catherine Rhoades; stepbrother, Thomas Demko.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, at 11 a.m. from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will be private. The David D. Jarrett Funeral Home, Mahanoy City is entrusted with arrangements.
