Center Street from Route 145/MacArthur Road to Sixth Street will be closed Thursday and Friday, Oct. 18 and 19, and Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 22 and 23, for the installation of a replacement sewer line.

The detour will be from Chestnut Street at Paulie's Restaurant in Coplay north on Ruch to either Ash and Columbia streets to Route 145/MacArthur Road or to Chestnut Street west to MacArthur Road at Sheetz.

The road will be closed so that contractor Joao & Bradley can install a replacement sewer line.

This construction is part of the Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority's two-year, $10-million Coplay Creek Sewer Interceptor Project that will replace the 1960s sewer line from the pump station at Eberhart Road and Lehigh/Water Street through Hokendauqua and Stiles before ending in Egypt. Part of the funding of this project is from PennVest.
