Helen S. Follweiler, 97, of Allentown, formerly of Hamburg and New Tripoli, died Oct. 10, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Elwood W. Follweiler.
Born March 31, 1915, in Lynn Township, she was the daughter of the late Francis W. Sittler and Mary R. (Gildner) Sittler.
She and her husband were farmers in Lynn Township for 33 years before retiring in 1964.
She was a past member of the Ontelaunee Lioness Club, New Tripoli, and the Kitchen Kadoodlers Band, sponsored by the Lehigh County Farmers Association.
In addition, she was an active participant with the senior citizens group in Hamburg.
She was a faithful member of Jacob's Church, Jacksonville, Lynn Township, where she sang with the choir for many years and actively participated with the church's oyster suppers.
Her passions included gardening, planting flowers, quilting, fishing, cooking and baking.
She is survived by a son William F. and his wife Rita of Slatington; sisters Mildred Kunkel of Kutztown, Mabel Heckler of Allentown and Anna, wife of Merrit Smith of Kutztown; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son Paul B.; and, most recently, by a daughter Faye A. George; granddaughter Paula L. Follweiler; and sister Marie R. Henry.
