Fullerton column

St. John's United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., Fullerton, is having its annual Holiday Happenings Craft Show 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

Featured will be lots of crafts including painted gourds, wood items and light bulbs, genuine gemstone jewelry, pet goodies, stained glass, retired Longaberger baskets, handmade baskets and more.

The kitchen will be open and a bake sale will be featured. St. John's famous potato filling, made with real mashed potatoes, will be available for purchase.

Raffles and a Chinese auction also will be part of the event.

The Whitehall Police Department will be on site to provide fingerprinting for children, along with a children's activity center. The fire department will also be on the premises.

The Volunteers of America Children's Center will hold a Designer Handbag Bingo and Chinese auction on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Fullerton Memorial Park, inside the social hall, 901 Jefferson St., Fullerton.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and bingo starts at 3 p.m. Handbags featured will be Vera Bradley, Coach, Dooney and Bourke, Kate Spade and Tiganello.

Your ticket will include a free meal of either barbecue or a hot dog with one side, a drink and dessert. No outside food or beverages are permitted.

AARP Chapter 3115 will meet at noon on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the American Club, 300 Cherry St., Coplay.

After the social hour, Melissa Riazzi and Carol Jon of Old Orchard Health Care Center, Easton, will speak on Medicare and home safety. A food drive will be conducted for the Coplay Food Bank. New members are welcome.
