Coplay police
Disturbance reported
Coplay Police responded at 1:22 a.m. Saturday to the Log Cabin Tavern, Second & Hall streets, on a report of a disturbance.
On arrival, patrol officers observed several people standing outside the tavern. Officers were told an altercation occurred between two men in the bar.
One of the men was hit in the face with a set of keys, police said. The individual who was struck confronted another man, who he thought threw the keys, police said.
One of the men involved in the fracas left before police arrived on the scene, police said. The other individual requested police take no action, police said.
Fire alarms summon police
Fire alarms again brought borough police and the fire department to apartments on Front Street on two separate occasions.
On Friday, Oct. 2, shortly before 8 p.m. police were summoned to 11 N. Front St. when an alarm sounded. The fire department found the alarm came from Apt. A-6.
The resident said taking a shower set off the alarm, police said.
On Oct. 10, at 2:34 p.m., police arrived at a residence at 28 S. Front St. when a fire alarm was sounded.
Police said contractors were cutting wood in the basement, which set off the fire alarm.
The Coplay Fire Department arrived on the scene and handled the situation, the report shows.
Gas odor reported
On Thursday, Oct. 11, police were called to 52 N. Front St. on a call of a gas odor.
Police said the smell of gas came from a motorcycle parked in the enclosed rear porch.
The borough fire department handled the situation, police said.
