Parkland elementary school students today, Oct. 11, sampled some new cafeteria food choices and local produce from a fresh food menu.
Signs in the cafeterias promoted the event to students, and parents will be notified in their weekly communication from school.
Food service employees talked to the students about the new food choices and gathered feedback on the items, which included: unbreaded plain or barbecue chicken nuggets, multi-grain dinner rolls from Philadelphia Bakery, Caesar salad, black bean salad with fresh tomato and cilantro, local fresh apples or pears and low-fat milks.
