Come out and enjoy the sixth annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest and Car Show this Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the North Catasauqua Park, 701 Grove St. The rain date is Oct. 20.
There will be plenty of fun activities for kids, including an Elmo Musical Show and a kids craft tent at noon. Children will also have the opportunity to meet and greet Tip the Crayola Crayon and Red from Red Robin.
The Catasauqua Press will sponsor a Bounce House and Brosky Insurance will sponsor a Fire Safety House, which will teach fire safety for the entire family.
Kids and their family can also take a choo-choo train ride, sponsored by Daku's Auto Body. The North Catasauqua We Sing! Community Chorus will paint kids' faces and families may also participate in pumpkin decorating.
Cooking demonstrations by Blondies will take place at 1 and 3 p.m. and Sue Albert's School of Dance will feature a dance demonstration at 1:30 p.m., both at the Grand White Stage.
Beginning at 2:15 p.m. at the Grand White Stage there will be a Crazy Cupcake Contest. The winner will win a half dozen cupcakes from Blondies every month for the year and have their cupcakes featured for one month at Blondies.
Bring your stomachs because a halupki eating contest is set for 3:30 p.m., also at the Grand White Stage. Entry forms are available at the North Catasauqua Borough Hall or at Blondies. All participants will receive a gift certificate from Blondies and $100 will be awarded to the winner.

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee organizes the event, which has grown considerably since its inception. More than 3,300 visitors attended the event last year.
Money raised from the event goes toward various North Catasauqua Betterment Committee community projects. This year's projects involved improvements to North Catasauqua Park which included a new wall, new steps, railing and a new six-piece wooden train playset for kids, new electrical hookups from PPL for the borough's Christmas decorations and the addition of new Christmas decor for around the borough.
The committee also sponsors the North Catasauqua Holiday Home Decorating Contest in December in which borough residents' holiday displays are awarded prizes and a holiday self-tour is available for the public to view holiday decorations.
