Henry William Rappold Sr., 86, of Lower Macungie Township, died October 4, 2012, in Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was the husband of Jean (Markert) Rappold. They were married for 47 years in June.

He was a partner in the certified public accounting firm of Campbell Rappold & Yurasits, LLP in Allentown from 1951 until retiring in 2000. Born in York, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Hilda (Weber) Rappold.

He was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School and a 1951 graduate of Penn State University.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was an 81 year member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown. He served on the church council and was treasurer.

He served on the board and was treasurer for Lehigh County Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife; son, Henry W. Jr. and his wife Jean of Coplay; stepsons, Harry Clarkson and his wife Pam of Hamilton Square, N.J. and Henry E. Clarkson and his wife Pam of Palmerton; stepdaughters, Mary Ann and her husband Robert Bock of Cream Ridge, N.J. and Jean C. and her husband Robert Madeira of Allentown; brother, Charles R. and his wife Sonia of Allentown; sister, Betty M. of Allentown; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, Thomas Clarkson.
