Betty J. Wilt, 89, of Allentown, formerly of Macungie, died October 6, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Wayne W. Bernecker and Gerald B. L. Wilt. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Helen M. (Gehris) Quinn.

She worked as a sales clerk for the former Stanley Nolin, Hess's Dept. Store and the Old Mill.

She was a former member of the Macungie Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Emmaus Lioness Club.

She is survived by sons, Wayne R. Bernecker and his wife Shirley of Macungie and Richard K. Bernecker and his wife Gail of Allentown; daughter, Barbara A. and her husband Larry M. Heinly of Union Hall, Va.; sister, Mary A. Troxell of Surprise, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Donald L. "Herk" Bernecker; brother, Robert C. Quinn; sister, Louise Roth.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Friends may call 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
