The Whitehall Township Industrial & Commercial Development Authority has scheduled a meeting tomorrow, Oct. 5, in the public meeting room in the township building.

The Board of Commissioners pressed for the authority to hold its meetings on township property rather than at the law offices of its solicitor, attorney Jeffrey Hussar.

Tomorrow's authority meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. It is open to the public.

The authority will review and vote on a proposed bond issue to Moravian Academy. The authority could discuss and act on any other business that may be properly brought before the members during the session.

The township commissioners at a meeting with the authority several months ago stated the authority will play a pivotal role in the township's future, specifically regarding property owned by Lehigh Valley Dairy.

The township for many years has sought to have the owners redevelop the property. The township also has pressed for zoning changes.

Another meeting is scheduled by the township zoning hearing board of adjustment for Oct.6, 7 p.m., in the commissioners meeting room to address the appeal of James and Sherry Betz and Dallas and Doris Stoneback, of 335 Seventh St., Whitehall. The Seventh Street property seeks a variance to the township zoning ordinance over side yard setbacks for a proposed attached carport to an existing home.

The township's Civil Service Commission meets today, 4 p.m., in the caucus room at the township municipal building. The Board of Commissioners will also hold their October meeting this coming Monday at 7 p.m.
