Walter J.J. Shilanskas Jr., 63, of South Whitehall Township, died Aug. 28, 2012, in the inpatient unit of Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.
He and his wife, JoAnne (Girard) Shilanskas would have celebrated 10 years of marriage on Aug. 30.
Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., he was a son of the late Walter J. and Anne E. (Petraska) Shilanskas Sr.
He earned his Bachelor's and Masters degrees in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.
He was a project manager for more than 30 years for Air Products and Chemicals, Trexlertown.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
He was a member of the Fullerton Fire Hall, and the Geezer Hockey League.
An avid golfer, he loved to travel with his wife JoAnne.
He was a die-hard New York Rangers and New York Mets fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Walter Chase and his wife, Molly, of New York, N..Y, and John Shilanskas and his wife, Heidi, of Bethlehem; daughters; Elizabeth, wife of Michael Danubio of Easton, Joan, wife of Joseph Wickel of Whitehall, and Jennifer Leach of Allentown; brother David and his wife, Karen, of Brick, N.J.; sister, Joanne, wife of Ronald Maricle of South Hampton, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
