The fifth annual National Take Back Day drug collection has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications, inlcuding pet medications, will be accepted at 16 sites in Lehigh County. Among them are:
· Catasauqua Police Department, 118 Bridge St., Catasauqua
· Slatington Police Department, 125 S. Walnut St., Slatington;
· Pennsylvania State Police, Bethlehem station, 2930 Airport Road, Hanover Township, Lehigh County;
· Whitehall Township Police Department, 3731 Lehigh St., Whitehall Township.
As with past collection events, the program is be anonymous, and no questions will be asked of individuals disposing of ·medications.
The event is being coordinated by the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office, area police departments, the Allentown Health Bureau, Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
