Alarms summon police

Residential fire alarms brought borough police and the fire department out on two separate calls Sept 23.

One alarm was at 10 N. Front St. where the alarm was sounding at apartment 11. The residents there had been cooking bacon that activated the alarm, police said.

The other alarm was at 11 N. Front St. where the fire alarm came from apartment A-2, police said.

A check found no fire taking place, police said.

Officers respond alarm

A residential alarm Sept. 22 brought police to the 800 block of Catherine Drive where a search of the home found nothing amiss.

Police respond to theft

Coplay police on Sept. 20 responded to a call at Radicals Restaurant, 123 Chestnut St., for a reported theft.

A Whitehall resident told police he placed his wallet on the counter at the restaurant and left. Upon returning to look for the wallet at approximately 6:32 p.m., it was missing, police said.

The man told police the wallet contained an unknown amount of cash and assorted cards.

Automobile scratched

Police were called Sept. 19 to the unit block of South Second Street where they found the word "killer" scratched into the hood of a 1998 Dodge Caravan.

The vehicle owner told police he was uncertain when the incident took place.

Pancakes set off alarm

Pancakes burning at 28 S. Front St. brought police and the fire department to the scene on Sept. 19.

There was no damage other than the pancakes, police said.
