Dr. Thomas Weir Wallace, of Lower Macungie, died Sept. 20, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marion (Evans) Wallace for 48 years. Born in Yeadon, he was the son of the late William G. and Catharine Lydia (Weir) Wallace.

He graduated from the Philadelphia Public School system, and earned two degrees at Temple University. He earned his academic doctorate degree at Lehigh University. He was certified to teach secondary school subjects and kindergarten through sixth grades. However, most of his public school duties were as assistant principal, principal and supervisor of curricula and instruction. He worked in four Pennsylvania school districts and retired from Southern Lehigh School District.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He and his wife shared their love for the outdoors by engaging in family camping with their children at state parks. They enjoyed many years of retirement pleasures with family and friends at their seashore home on Topsail Beach, N.C. They were also frequent worldwide travelers.

He was a longtime member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church.

He and his wife were lifetime readers and believers in the writings of Emmanuel Swendenborg.

During his retirement years, he volunteered at two Phoebe Ministries communities, Phoebe Allentown and Phoebe Wyncote. At the Phoebe Allentown, he assisted residents with computerized courses.

He is survived by a son, Dr. Thomas E. and his wife Barbara and their six children, Madelyn, Ian, Connor, Gwyneth, Jillian and Simon of Williamsport; daughters, Cynthia C. and her husband Glenn Bonney and their daughter Emily of Macungie, and Karen Z. and her husband Michael Luma and their children, Taryn, James and Lydia of Macungie. He was predeceased by a brother William and sister Lydia.
