As golf's regular season winds down, the Zephs will be sending one golfer to the District 11 qualifier at Woodstone on Oct. 1.
An 81 average is needed to qualify.
Whitehall senior Mark Roth averaged a 78 this season, according to head coach Curt Beer.
"He will be going to the district qualifier so congratulations to him for making that happen," Beer said.
Fellow senior Jake Szakal averaged an 83, which is just off the mark. Patrick Glasgow averaged an 87, Beer said.
"It's a shame the season is ending for those guys," Beer said about Szakal and Glasgow. "They have just run out of matches because they have been coming on strong all season."
The qualifier is Oct. 1, and Roth will need to finish in the top-20 to advance to District 11 match on Oct. 8, at Shawnee. From there, he'll need to finish in the top-10 to advance to regionals at Golden Oakes on Oct. 16. After that, it's states.
Beer said Roth recently shot a 68 at Allentown Muni last Thursday against Dieruff.
Rudy Romanyshyn also averaged an 87 this season and Loran Pritchard averaged an 88. Kyle Greezweig and Kyle Brokenshire averaged 96 and Brian Mittura averaged 109. Freshman Chase Hutterer did not see action.
