Sept. 21:Youth Night at the football game. Young players from the various football leagues in the Parkland area are invited to wear their jerseys to obtain free admission to the game and will be recognized on the field. Parkland cheerleaders will have a "Get Your Picture Taken with Parkland Trojan for $1" fundraiser at the football stadium.
Sept. 22: Parkland cheerleader car wash from 10 a.m -2 p.m at Applebee's, Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall.
Achievements
The following 11 Parkland High School students were selected as semifinalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program: Tyler Duff, Ajay Gandhi, Rosh an Joshi, Aditya Misra, John Pellosie, Mohammad Saeed, Donovan Snyder, Marcus Spiegel, Kaleb Tseo, Ana Veskovic and Joy Wang.
These scholastically talented seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards, worth $36 million, offered next spring.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships. Winners of scholarships are chosen on the basis of their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.
