David A. Kalbach

David A. Kalbach, 53, from Kempton, died unexpectedly Sept. 13, 2012, in his home.

He and his wife, Joanne J. ( Bauscher) Kalbach, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in July.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William Weatherholtz and Dolores (Noecker) Kalbach.

A self-employed farmer in the Weisenberg Township area for many years, he was also formerly employed by Dana Corp. Reading, from 1983 to 2000.

From 1980-83, he was employed by the former Hahn Motors of Hamburg.

He was a member of Frieden's Lutheran Church, Stony Run, the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club and the Kempton Fire Company.

He also was on the Kempon Community Center board of directors.

He loved hunting, being outdoors and taking his grandson Kolton fishing.

He also participated in off road tractor and truck pulling contests throughout Pennsylvania.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rachael D., wife of Ryan J. Rex, of Stony Run; son, Jason D., at home; stepfather Robert Kalbach of Shoemakersville; sister Lori A. Heckman of Bernville; brothers Kenneth N. Kalbach and his wife, Wendy, of Hamburg, Kevin R. Kalbach and his wife, Michelle, from Pottsville, Clint Kalbach of Virginia; grandson Kolton Rex and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests contributions in his memory be made to the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club and/or to the Kempton Fire Company c/o the funeral home.

Arrangements were made by Nester Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Lynn Township.
