Coplay business is approved by council

Coplay council took care of several new business items at its meeting Sept. 11. All new business was approved unanimously by the council members that were present.

· Approved the resignation of Dean Molitoris from Coplay Planning Commission with term expiring on Dec. 13, 2016.

· Approved the appointment of Frank Stoisits to the Coplay Board of Appeals with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2013.

· Approved a donation in the amount of $50 to the Greater Lehigh Valley Visiting Nurses.

· Approved a donation of $50 to Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County.

· Approved authorization for the borough solicitor to advertise renegotiated terms for the 2012 general obligation note for capital projects and the 2012 general obligation note for 38 South Fourth St.

· Approved 2013 minimum municipal obligation for the Coplay nonuniformed employees defined contribution plan, the Coplay nonuniformed employees money purchase plan and the Coplay police pension plan.

· Approved trick or treat night in the borough of Coplay for Friday, Oct. 26, 6-8 p.m., with a rain date of Saturday, Oct. 27.

· Approved a motion to waive an appeal fee of $500 for a zoning appeal application for Matthew McCauley and Stephany Knechel, residing at 57 North Fifth St.

· Approved police, fire, health and building inspector reports.

· Approved Treasurer Sandra Gyecsek's report for August.

· Approved a motion to pay all bills as submitted to council by Secretary Sandra Gyecsek.

Council's next meeting is a workshop scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.
