The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9264 has announced the 66th Ladies Auxiliary Voice of Democracy Scholarship competition. Local high school students have the opportunity to compete for scholarships and a trip to Washington, D.C. Students must write and record a three to five minute essay on the theme, "Is Our Constitution Still Relevant?" on an audio cassette tape or audio CD and present the recording, typed essay and entry form to the local VFW Post by Nov. 1. Post winners advance to district; first place district winner advances to the state competion. The state winner will receive a four day trip to Washington, D.C. A total of $152,000 is awarded to national finalists. The first place award is $30,000. Interested students and teachers should call 610-966-4787.
