Robert Q.C. Bechtel Sr., 83, of Whitehall, formerly of Emmaus, died peacefully September 9, 2012 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, with his loving and dedicated family by his side. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Keller) Bechtel for over 59 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (Koch) Bechtel.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Coplay.

He was a 1947 graduate of Allentown High School and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a printer and typesetter for over 33 years at the former H. Ray Haas and Co., and also worked at A&B Meats, International Webbing, and the True Value Distribution Center.

He was a life member of the Fullerton Fire Co. #1 and the former Travelette Club.

He enjoyed taking care of his yard and beautiful gardens.

He is survived by his wife; son, Robert Q.C. Jr. and his wife Debra (Moore) of Whitehall; brother-in-law, George Folk and his wife Dorothy. He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela L. Morgan in 2007, sisters, Gertrude Folk, Verna Koehler and her husband Robert.
