Zephyr Apartments residents Kris Hillard and Penny Mast receive scholarships from The Michaels Organization, an educational foundation affiliated with the apartment complex's property management company. Hillard will be attending Lehigh Carbon Community College and Baum School of Art for photography. Mast also will attend the Baum School of Art for Creating with Clay and Clothing Construction. The grants, which range from $500 to $1,000, can be used at any accredited college, university or vocational-technical training program in the country. Hilliard also received a National Affordable Housing Management Association grant for $750 to be used toward educational expenses.
