Water rescue

Dispatched to 12th Street and Tapler Drive on the evening of Sept. 4, borough police officers responded to a call for a water rescue.
Arriving at the scene, police found a silver Hyundai stranded in two feet of water. The driver, an unidentified woman, told police she was fine and not injured, police said.
Coplay Fire Department personnel responded and pushed the car to the side of the road when the water subsided, police said.
Police
investigating theft
Coplay Police on Monday said an investigation has begun into the theft of an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone taken from a Front Street residence.
A resident of the unit block of North Front Street told police the theft took place between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5, police said.
Police respond to fire alarm
Borough police on Sept. 4 responded to a fire alarm at 136 S. Front St.
The borough fire department was also dispatched to the call at 5:11 p.m., police said.
The apartment was vacant and a smoke detector had malfunctioned, police said.
