Frances S. Gable, 93, of Macun-gie, died Sept. 2, 2012, in the Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township. She was the wife of the late William Gable. Born in Lower Gwynedd, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Maria (Hoover) Sellers. She grew up on Normandy Farm, Blue Bell, where her father Elias was manager of the dairy farm.

She earned an associate degree in 1938 from Drexel University where she played for the womens varsity basketball and field hockey teams.

She was a bookkeeper throughout her professional career.

She was a member of MacAlester-Torresdale Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret and her husband Ralph Shockey and Virginia Lee "Judy" and her husband Thomas Weiss; four grandchildren, Erinn Shockey, Guinevere Boylan, Susan Price and Thomas Weiss Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Jervis; and her brother, Robert Sellers.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held noon Sept.15 in the Wayside Chapel, Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. A calling hour will be held 11 a.m to noon in the chapel preceding the service. Graveside interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park immediately following the service.
