Forrest A. Hunsicker
Forrest A. "Bushy" Hunsicker, 80, of Kempton, formerly of Fleetwood, died Sept. 3, 2012, in his home.
Born in Lenhartsville, he was a son of the late Homer S. and Anne (Guildner) Hunsicker.
He was a meat cutter for Peter's Brothers Meat Market, Lenhartsville, from 1945-67 and later briefly for the former Armor and Co., Reading.
From 1967-69, he worked for the Thriftway Meat Markets.
He later owned and operated his own painting business, specializing in barns with hex signs and also new home construction, from 1969 until retiring in 2009.
An accomplished guitar player and singer, he loved country and bluegrass music.
He served his country honorably during the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton.
He also was a member of the Kempton and Lynnport fire companies and a 52-year member of American Legion Post 637, Hamburg.
His survivors include daughters, Alecia R., wife of David Kramer of Hamburg, and Luann M., wife of Kevin Condran, of Hershey; sons Ronald K. and his wife, Jane, of Hughesville, and Jamie L of Hamburg; brothers Robert and his wife, Claire, of Kempton, and Marlin and his wife, Nancy, of Hamburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and his longtime loving companion of 21 years, Jean A. (Bond) Rauch of Kempton, with whom he resided.
He was predeceased by a son, Chris A., in 2008; sisters Mildred Share, Lillian Muth and Shirley Arndt, and brothers Richard, Curtis and Bernette.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated with no formal services.
