Fire Calls
August 27
· Stations 36 and 37 responded to a reported mattress smoking in the middle of the roadway at Mickley Road and American Street (none found), 5:54 a.m.
· A fire alarm at 2022 Aery Lane, found to be a cooking accident, brought out Stations 36 and 37, 1:01 p.m.
· Stations 36, 37 and 39 responded to a pull station alarm at the Golf Oil Terminal, 2451 Main St., system malfunction, 4:29 p.m.
August 28
· Station 37 recalled for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a car on Schadt Avenue at the S curves, 6:54 a.m.
· Stations 35, 36, 37 and 38 responded to a fire alarm at 3324 Barclay Road, no problem found, 9:52 a.m.
· Station 40 provided mutual aid to the Northampton Fire Department for a building filling with smoke at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, 10:37 a.m.
· Fire department standby for a truck that fell over in the grass area on the west side of the Pine Street Bridge while unloading the light fixtures for the bridge brought out Station 37, 1:11 p.m.
· Station 36 assisted Emergency Medical Services to gain access at 1222 Ridge Ave., 3:45 p.m.
August 30
· A small brush fire on South Church Street near Center Street brought out Stations 38 and 39, 3:08 p.m.
· Station 35 fire police assisted police with traffic control at MacArthur and Mickley roads (Taco Bell), 3:29 p.m.
August 31
· Station 39 provided mutual aid to North Whitehall for a fire alarm at NBMA plant on Second Street, 8:56 a.m.
· Stations 36, 37 and 38 responded to a basement smoke detector activated at Care Chiropractic, 3621 Eberhart Road, due to a cooking accident, 12:11 p.m.
· Stations 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40 assisted at the high school to give the football team a rousing send off, 2 p.m.
· A motor vehicle accident with injuries on Fullerton Avenue at the eastbound off ramp brought out Station 36, 2:46 p.m.
· Station 37 assisted with cleanup of an oil spill from a disabled vehicle on First Avenue near Main Street, 3:29 p.m.
August 31
· A reported mulch fire at the Wood Street playground brought out Stations 36 and 37, 6:18 p.m.
· Station 36 recalled for a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Third and Grape streets, 9:23 p.m.
