Robert P. Kuhns, 77, of Macungie, died Sept. 2, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janice (Jacobs) Kuhns. They were married for 53 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Oscar and Mabel (Race) Kuhns and formerly lived in Philadelphia and Holland.

He was employed by Bell Telephone Co. of Pa. for 37 years before retiring.

An active member and volunteer at Asbury United Methodist Church, he enjoyed spending time in Florida, volunteering and attending Faith United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers, Fla. Prior to his illness he was an avid traveler and square dancer.

He is survived by his wife; son, James and his wife Sandra of Harleysville; daughter, Linda and her husband Kevin Maydick of Allentown; grandchildren, Brandon and Jordan; Sean, Meaghan, Ryan and Neil Maydick. He was predeceased by a brother Richard and sister Margaret Boyd.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Asbury Church. Calling hours 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Brubaker Funeral Home Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements.
