Hosea Atwater, 68, of Wescosville, died August 16, 2012. He was the son of the late Deroy Sr. and Eva Nell Atwater of Jackson, Tenn.

He attended the public schools of Madison County and was a graduate of East High School.

He served in the U.S. Army and did two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was employed at Mack Truck as a security guard.

He is survived by sisters, Ruby A. Hurt and Berniece of Jackson, Tenn, and Mary A. Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, Melvin L. and his wife Cordelia and MacArthur of Jackson, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Katherine and Emma of Saginaw, Mich. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by four brothers, Willie R., Johnny L., Deroy Jr., and Decellus.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the Jesse Johnson Funeral Home, Allentown.
