Sunday school resumes Sept. 9
At Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt, Sunday school classes will resume at 8:50 a.m. Sept. 9.
Classes are available for all ages. Fellowship hour will also resume after a summer hiatus, beginning Sept. 9, after the 10:15 a.m. worship service.
Fourteen youth and two adults from Shepherd of the Hills recently went on a trip to New Orleans where they helped a neighborhood which continues to recover from the damage done by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
They cut weeds and grass and cleared debris from overgrown fields. While attending the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering, they also found some time to explore the city, the French Market and sample some Cajun cuisine.
With the next Youth Gathering set for the summer of 2015, the youth group will begin conducting fundraising events to help fund their next trip. Check this column for information on upcoming hoagie sales, penny parties and nut roll sales.
