Coplay police

Police respond to alarm

Coplay Police on Friday evening responded to an alarm at an apartment at 11 N. Front St.

Police said on arrival they determined the alarm was located on an exterior wall of the building. Unable to determine what type of alarm was sounding, police said everything inside the building was secure.

Lehigh Count Housing was notified and then dispatched personnel to the apartment building, police said.

Disturbance reported

Police responded to a report of a disturbance Aug. 25 on the 100 block of Coplay Street.

Police said a woman reported her ex-boyfriend, a Lehighton resident, arrived at her residence unexpectedly and began an argument.

Once outside, he smashed two windows on the woman's car with an aluminum bat he was carrying, police said.

He left the premises before police arrived on the scene, police said.

Officers respond to vehicle accident

On Aug. 20 Coplay police responded to a vehicle accident on Cherry Street near the entrance to Giant Market.

Jon Silfies of Clearview Road, North Whitehall Township, told police he was traveling on Cherry Street when the vehicle he was operating was struck by a vehicle pulling out of the Giant Market, police said.

Police were told the driver of the vehicle got out of his vehicle and looked at Silfies vehicle, which had no damage. The unidentified driver returned to his vehicle and drove away, police said.
