Al Cannon, 44, of Northampton, holds up a chicken bone after being declared the winner in the hot wings eating contest at Coplay Community Days Saturday. He downed the 12 wings in 2 minutes and 24 seconds to win a prize of $100. Contestants were judged not only on speed but also on how well they cleaned the meat from the bones. Also at Community Days, 19 singers competed in the semifinal round of the Best of the Best Karaoke Contest. The finals take place at the Gin Mill in Northampton tonight, Thursday, Aug. 30, starting at 9 p.m. The winner of that contest will receive a $1,000 prize.
