6:30 p.m. Sept. 1, Fairgrounds Grandstand, Allentown Fair. It's a band. It's a TV show. It's an album. It's all of these. It's the teen-pop band, The Fresh Beat Band. The Band's Nick Jr. TV show includes original pop songs sung by Shout (Thomas Hobson), keyboards, vocals; Twist (Jon Beavers), turntables, beatbox, vocals; Marina (Tara Perry), drums, vocals; and Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer), guitar, violin, vocals. The performers are described as four best friends in a band who attend music school and love to sing and dance. The show is produced at Paramount Studios, Los Angeles. The album, "The Fresh Beat Band: Music From the Hit TV Show," was released in January, and includes four singles previously released on iTunes: "Great Day," "Here We Go," "A Friend Like You" and "Just Like a Rockstar." The Fresh Beat Band received a Parents' Choice Award (2011) for Fun Stuff (2-5 years-old).
