Levi Dingle, 73, of Alburtis, died August 23, 2012, while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. He was the husband of Carolyn T. (Pressley) Dingle. They were married for 36 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edwards Kitt and Emma (Fordham) Jacobs.

He served in the United States Army.

He worked for Labor Union Local #135 and was recording secretary.

He was a former Golden Gloves fighter in the 1960's and sparred with Sonny Liston.

He was a competitive bowler and received many trophies in his career.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Levi E., of Easton and Aaron H. of Alburtis; brothers, Ervin of Fairbanks, Calif., Lawrence of Philadelphia and Donald of Texas; sister, Helene P. of Philadelphia; six grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. James AME Zion Church, 410 W. Union St., Allentown, 18102. Calling hours are 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31, at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, 18102, and 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday in the church.
