Reynold G. Reinert

Reynold G. Reinert, 75, from Fogelsville, died Aug. 17, 2012, in his home.

He and his wife, Grace B. (Kratzer) Reinert, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1.

Born in New Tripoli, he was a son of the late George H. and Luella A. (Snyder) Reinert.

A 1954 graduate of Kutztown High School, he worked at the Kutztown Shoe Co. as a laster from 1954-74.

He worked part-time from 1972-74 for Weisenberg Township as a zoning officer.

In 1975, he became Weisenberg Township administrator and sewerage enforcement officer.

He also started serving as Lowhill Township administrator and sewerage enforcement officer, all of which he still continued to do.

He enjoyed genealogy and was the Bittner-Werley families' reunion historian.

A member of the Weisenberg-Lowhill Historical society, he contributed articles to the quarterly newsletter.

He was president of the Fereinicht Pennsylvania Dietsch Fulk. He enjoyed hunting and was an expert pinochle player.

He was a member of the Seipstown Grange, past leader of the Lynn-ville 4-H and president of the Lehigh-Kress Hunting Club.

A member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, he served as president of the consistory when it was a union church.

He served on the cemetery committee, sang with the choir, was superintendent of the Sunday School, where he participated in the orchestra, and played on the church softball team.

He was a member of the National Guard.

He and his wife loved to travel. They visited 38 states and many countries.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kelvin L. and wife, Karen, of New Tripoli; daughter, Sandra D., wife of Charles Cappuccino of Kutztown; brothers, Donald W. and wife, Carol, of Len-hartsville and Sterling D. and wife, Doreen, of Slatington; sister, Lucille A., wife of Dennis Heintzelman of New Tripoli; grandchildren James and wife Jen, John and Andrew Reinert, Curtis and Katie Cappuccino; great-grandchildren, Alanna and Wesley.

His services will be noon Aug. 23, at Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Raymond J. Hand officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Thursday in the church.

Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
