Gladys B. Smith, 83, formerly of Warren, N.J., died peacefully Aug. 15, 2012, with her loving family by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband James J. Smith in 2007.

She was born in Massachusetts.

She was a telephone operator with Verizon for 25 years.

she was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed reading, painting and music.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her survivors include daughters, Carol Murphy and husband, Tom of Washington, N.J., and Laura Freund and husband, Joe, of Fogelsville; sister Fay Kubach and husband, Bill, of Boca Raton, Fla.; and grandchildren Alexandra, Brian, Raven and Lydia.

Her services were private.
