Christ United Church of Christ invites the public to a pig roast and covered dish picnic Sunday, Sept. 9, at Covenant United Methodist Church on Mountain View Drive,

The event begins at noon. Sunnieside Bluegrass Band will perform at 1:30 p.m. followed by a friendly softball game between the two churches at 3 p.m.

Practice for Christ Church's senior choir will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m.

Anyone who has a desire to sing and has a commitment to serving God through music is welcome to come join the merry band.

Christ Church, Little Moore Preschool, Route. 946 and South Mink Road, is now accepting enrollments for the 2012-13 school year.

Programs include preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds and kindergarten readiness. Morning and afternoon and full time sessions are available for the 4-year-old program.
