There will be an "early bird special" starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, for the Hope Lutheran Church Annual Yard Sale.

There is a cost for this one-day special and the fee will be collected at the door. You will be granted early access to all of the items available at the yard sale.

Church members are are also looking for volunteers to provide baked goods and home-cooked dishes to be be sold at the event.

Feeling nostalgic and thinking of times and people of years ago? Don't overlook the opportunity to visit the historical centre in Pennsville.

The Lehigh Township Historical Centre will be open to visitors on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Open house dates next month are Sept. 9 and 23.

There is no charge to visit but donations for the ongoing addition are always accepted.

St. Paul's Schoolhouse on Almond Road will be open to visitors on Sept. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. If you have not seen the restored schoolhouse, plan to visit on the 15th.

Remember, if you cannot visit on the regular open house days, you can always call and make an appointment, 610-767-5859.

Watch for information on the historical society's upcoming mum sale in September.
