The Northampton Exchange Club is pursuing a $10,000 grant from a local nonprofit marketing company.
If approved, the money will be used to provide image makeover services.
The grant would show local organizations that the Exchange Club is interested in continuing to reach out to the community, individuals and worthy causes.
In other business at a recent meeting, the club decided to form a new committee called the orientation committee.
Robert Correll and John Mckenzie co-chair the committee and look for additional club members willing to serve.
Because the Exchange Club is often present at community functions such as the street fair, members will purchase a small tent to offer shelter and give the public a place to talk and become involved with the organization.
The club will also purchase a new book that will be presented to the Northampton Area Public Library in memory of a dedicated member, Robert Mushrush, who recently died. Mushrush was the 1966 recipient of the Golden Deeds Award from the Catasauqua Exchange Club. The club has traditionally procured a book for the library after the death of a member.
A new club member dues card is also scheduled to be introduced to membership.
