Many of the streets in Coplay are now sporting a fresh, new look.

Borough public works personnel have recently tackled a myriad of road projects, along with painting curbs at intersections and areas where vehicles are prohibited.

The borough parkway pool will host the final Dip-N-Dance Friday.

The special event, which includes a deejay and prizes, takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. Along with children and teens, adults are welcome to attend the bash.

The pool will also be open to the public on Community Days, Aug. 23-Aug. 26.

Borough Council will get back on pace when it meets Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. This week's council workshop was moved ahead one day, to Monday, since the National Night Out program was held at the American Club of Coplay Pavilion Tuesday.

Mayor Joseph Bundra issued a proclamation to signify the importance of promoting neighborhood safety. The local event was held by the Coplay Town Watch.
