For the 3,000-plus people who call the one square mile of Coplay home, 2017 was a pretty good year.

Phase three of the Community Plaza was completed; there are only three more phases to go. Family and businesses can still contribute to the clock and a other plaza projects.

Thank you to Stephen Gyecsek, who did a great job as Santa Claus at the Community Plaza Christmas event.

All permits for the renovated Saylor Park are in order, and ground breaking for the project could take place early spring.

With the bridge under construction, the borough’s co-op program has been well received and will continue in 2018, as will the summer entertainment series at Community Plaza.

Coplay Cemetery Association will meet noon Jan. 7, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Third Street, Coplay. New members are always welcome.

Some trees have been planted around the perimeter of the cemetery. Additional trees can be planted in honor or memory of a loved one.
