UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP: Churches offering Easter activities

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have an Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 1 through sixth grade at 2 p.m. on April 14, rain or shine.

An adult challenge course will also be offered.

Refreshments will be served in the grove following the egg hunt.

The church will observe Maundy Thursday with a Union Agape potluck meal (a form of Love Feast) 6:30 p.m. April 18 in fellowship hall.

The youth group at Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt 1 p.m. April 20, rain or shine, for kids in nursery school through fourth grade.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., and St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., both in Fogelsville, will have their community Easter Egg Hunt April 13 in Upper Macungie Park (Falcon Pavilion), Route 100 N. Fogelsville. Rain date is April 20.

Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. with the event starting at 10 a.m.

All children from infant up to and including sixth grade are invited to participate. There will be an Easter basket raffle.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is accepting orders for its cinnamon bun bake sale April 28-30.

Tickets are on sale until April 21 for the mother and daughter banquet 6:30 p.m. May 8 at the church.

The family style dinner includes chicken and ham, filling, sweet potatoes, lettuce with bacon dressing, green beans, corn and various desserts.

St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, will have its Easter morning breakfast 9 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m. on April 21.

The church will observe Maundy Thursday with a service at 7:30 p.m. April 18.

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, will have a community Easter breakfast 9 a.m. and an egg hunt at 10 a.m., both on April 20.

Bring along a freewill donation or a nonperishable food item for a food bank donation.

Age groups are birth through age 12.

Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage links, coffee, orange juice or water. Children older than 12 cannot participate.

Egg hunts will run concurrently. One parent may accompany their child in the youngest age group, only.

The church will have an Easter vigil service 7 p.m. April 20 and the Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. April 21.
