MACUNGIE INSTITUTE

On Nov. 16, Friends of the Macungie Institute hosted “An Elegant Holiday Tea.”

The holiday tea, which includes a gift basket raffle, is a popular annual event that has grown over time. To accommodate everyone wishing to attend, for the last several years the event planners have added a second seating.

In the tradition first popularized by England’s Queen Victoria, participants enjoy a variety of scones, tea sandwiches, desserts and aromatic teas. This year, students from Arts Academy Charter Middle School, Salisbury Township, volunteered as servers before giving a vocal performance that incorporated modern and traditional pieces.

The Macungie Institute Performing Arts and Conference Center is located at 510 E. Main St., Macungie.
