Lehigh 12U team rolls past City Line

Lehigh Little League’s 12U team opened the PA District 20 Tournament with a 16-0 victory over City Line last Monday at Lehigh.

Players representing Lehigh in the tournament are Elliot Berk, Andrew Bowser, Nicholas Bowser, Fikire Conway, Aidan Dancho, Carl Fair, Justin Frey, Jaxon Horvath, Kim Kensicki, Connor Martinez, Jacob Matthews, Rocco Sciarra, and Jacob Strong.

Pitchers Andrew Bowser and Sciarra combined for a four-inning no-hitter against City Line.

Horvath was 3 for 3 with a walk, and Strong had two in-the-park home runs.

“I hit it to right field and it was in the gap. [The outfielder] shifted too far the other way so it went by his side and I just bolted around the bases,” said Strong. “The second one, I hit to left field, and no one was on base.”

Lehigh’s 12U team is comprised of the top players from Lehigh’s regular-season teams.

“We had a lot of practice together. I think we did really good,” Strong said. “I thought we could compete against [City Line] really well, and I was happy that we scored that many runs.”

Buck Horvath is the manager for the 12U team, and coaches are Rick Sciarra and Chris Kensicki.
