Congratulations to the Allentown Central Catholic High School Science Olympiad Team who earned the first place trophy at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference competition Feb. 21, which was held at Northampton Community College. Central received a medal for every event except for one. Amazing job, Vikings!

The first-seeded Vikings defeated Palisades 63-32 in District XI 4A boys basketball. ACCHS improved to 21-4 and earned a spot in the district semifinals for the fourth straight year. The Vikings defeated Wilson High School in the District XI 4A semifinals which was held at Freedom High School. Vikings took on Bethlehem Catholic High School for the championship Feb. 28.

Congratulations to JT Heinze who earned a silver medal, second place at the PIAA District Championships at Emmaus High School. JT will represent ACCHS at states March 13 at Bucknell University.

ACCHS entered five wrestlers into districts and placed 10th overall. Chris Clifford (145) and Attikus Clifford (138) both finished third in their weight classes. David Kreidler (126) finished with a second place. They will go on to compete in the Southeast Regional Tournament. Good luck, Vikings.

Congratulations to our scholars nominated for academies by U.S. Congresswomen Susan Wild, D-7th – Michael Prebosnyak for the Air Force and Ryan Walczak and Victoria Rosado for the Naval Academy.

The ACCHS Mock Trial Team competed in the quarter final competition at the Northampton County Courthouse. They missed moving on to the semifinals; however, they did an outstanding job. The plaintiff team included attorneys Anabhell Gonzalez, Jayvian Boston and Reilly Heidecker; witnesses were Emma Ossiander, Andrew LaRock and Luke Kuklis. The defense team included attorneys Anna Haddad, Harrison DeWalt and Jane Kamioner; witnesses were Dylan Ferareza, Ella Laski and Titus Faust.

ACCHS Campus Ministry recently announced the upcoming March retreats. These retreats include a Philly Shrine Hop March 17, juniors, my bucket list March 23 and Stations of the Cross March 24. Students can sign up at the campus ministry office.
