Camden Hutson named T-shirt winner

Northwestern Elementary held its fourth annual Fun Run fundraiser in February.

The event is designed to help schools raise money for field trips and the programs Partners In Education brings into the school.

Each year, students wear T-shirts specifically designed for the run and submit them to PIE.

This year, fifth-grade students were asked to submit designs for the T-shirt, and one would be chosen for printing.

The submissions were created by Kiersten Klein, Elizabeth Diehl, Avri Chandler, McKensey Miller, Olivia Greenawalt, Kylie Ackerman, Camden Hutson, Olivia Reinhard, Angie Spachman, Dane Kauker, Austin Bittenbender, Jayden Billig, Ava Smedstad, Alescia Lewis, Hunter Greenawalt, Gracie Scheffler and Zachary Keinert.

Brenda Smoyer, branch manager at New Tripoli Bank, which sponsored printing of the shirts, presented the winner, Camden Hutson, with his winning T-shirt.

The fundraiser that lasted 10 days netted the school $17,582.

Since Northwestern Elementary began the program, a total of $68,628 has been raised.
